Rana Tanveer proposes to extend Dutch training programs to Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: “On the occasion of the National Day of Birthday celebration of King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, I have the honour and pleasure to convey my greetings and felicitations to Your Excellency and the entire people of the Republic of The Netherlands. It gives me immense pleasure to state that Pakistan & Netherlands have enjoyed a long-standing friendly relations and good cooperation over the past years,” said Federal Minister for Industries and Production and National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain while addressing as chief guest at the birthday celebration of King Willem-Alexander held here at the Embassy of Netherlands in Islamabad.
I am confident that with common efforts, the friendly relations and good cooperation existing between our two countries will be further strengthened and fruitfully bolstered in the coming years for the benefits of both the nations, thus contributing to peace, stability and development cooperation.
I am glad to inform that there have been several collaborative programs between the two governments and various organizations. The Dutch Government’s facilitation extended through PUM – by providing free senior Dutch Experts has been extremely beneficial for many sectors including engineering, horticulture, Agriculture, tourism, healthcare etc. But, unfortunately, this program was discontinued for some reasons. I would request the Dutch Diplomacy to look for revival of this particular program.
Further, the Dutch organizations like CBI (Centre for the Promotion of Imports from developing countries-The Netherlands) has played a vital role for developing exporters from Pakistan. I would like to propose for extending their programs to the value-added export sectors from Pakistan to train them to become exporters to EU countries, as this is one of the ways we can work together for sustainable and inclusive economic development.
“I am convinced that with concerted and intensified efforts, the longstanding friendly relations and good cooperation, both bilateral and multilateral, between our two countries will be further enhanced and flourished in the coming years in the interest of our businesses & people,” he concluded.
