{"id":32746,"date":"2026-05-21T11:08:36","date_gmt":"2026-05-21T11:08:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globaltimes.com.pk\/?p=32746"},"modified":"2026-05-21T11:08:36","modified_gmt":"2026-05-21T11:08:36","slug":"pm-hosts-prince-rahim-aga-khan-v-seeks-deeper-partnership-with-akdn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globaltimes.com.pk\/index.php\/2026\/05\/21\/pm-hosts-prince-rahim-aga-khan-v-seeks-deeper-partnership-with-akdn\/","title":{"rendered":"PM hosts Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, seeks deeper partnership with AKDN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD, May 21 (<a href=\"https:\/\/abc.net.pk\/pm-hosts-prince-rahim-aga-khan-v-seeks-deeper-partnership-with-akdn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ABC<\/a>): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif hosted a breakfast meeting in honour of Prince Rahim Aga Khan V during his first official visit to Pakistan, reaffirming the country\u2019s commitment to strengthening cooperation in human development and climate resilience.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister warmly welcomed Prince Rahim Aga Khan V and appreciated his commitment to promoting peace, stability and constructive engagement with governments and international partners.<\/p>\n<p>Highlighting the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the Aga Khan Development Network, the prime minister commended the network\u2019s contributions in rural development, healthcare, education, disaster resilience, climate adaptation, renewable energy, digital skills training and youth entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p>He particularly praised AKDN\u2019s work in remote and vulnerable communities in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.<\/p>\n<p>The prime minister encouraged AKDN to further expand its partnership with Pakistan, especially in Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral, where its institutional presence and community outreach have played a significant role. He also welcomed enhanced cooperation with Aga Khan University, acknowledging its contribution to healthcare and higher education.<\/p>\n<p>Recognising Prince Rahim Aga Khan V\u2019s advocacy for environmental stewardship, the prime minister said AKDN remained a trusted partner in Pakistan\u2019s efforts to strengthen climate resilience, particularly in glacially vulnerable northern areas.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked Prince Rahim Aga Khan V for visiting Pakistan and assured him that Pakistan would always remain his second home.
