Pakistan’s historic lunar mission with china’s chang’e 6

Faculty and students of the Institute of Space Technology (IST) in collaboration with Pakistan’s National Space Agency SUPARCO, Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) and China’s Shanghai Jio Tong University have successfully designed and developed a Lunar Cubesat named ICUBE-Qamar.

The ICUBE-Qamar mission carries two optical cameras for imaging the lunar surface. After successful qualification and testing, ICUBE-Qamar has now been integrated with the Chang’e 6 orbiter. Chang’e 6 is the 6th in a series of Chinese lunar probes.

ICUBE-Qamar is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2024, marking a major step in Pakistan’s space exploration.
